Website traffic analytics MCP
Traffic estimates and their history for any domain, with the keywords behind them.
Your agent can estimate organic traffic for up to 1,000 domains in one call, read how it changed month by month, see a domain's rank overview and the keywords that bring the visits, and check search volume against clickstream data from a second source.
Questions your agent can answer
- What is the estimated organic traffic of these ten domains, and who grew fastest this year?
- Which keywords bring the most traffic to competitor.com?
- How does Google Ads volume for these keywords compare with clickstream volume?
The tools it calls
Every row is a tool in the catalogue, with the provider's description and a link to its public reference. Your agent finds them with prowl_search_tools and calls them with prowl_call_tool; each call is billed on its own.
| Tool | Provider | What it returns |
|---|---|---|
dataforseo_labs_bulk_traffic_estimation | DataForSEO | Estimate monthly organic traffic for up to 1000 domains — organic, paid, featured snippet, and local pack traffic. |
dataforseo_labs_historical_bulk_traffic_estimation | DataForSEO | Get historical traffic estimates for domains — track organic traffic changes over time. |
dataforseo_labs_domain_rank_overview | DataForSEO | Get domain ranking overview — organic/paid keyword counts, traffic estimates, and ranking distribution. |
dataforseo_labs_ranked_keywords | DataForSEO | Get all keywords a domain ranks for in Google — with positions, search volume, and traffic estimates. |
dataforseo_kw_clickstream_search_volume | DataForSEO | Get clickstream-based search volume normalized with Bing data — more accurate than Google Ads for real user behavior. |
Two ways to ask
Your agent. Add Prowl to Claude Code, Cursor, Codex or any MCP client with one config block (the getting-started walkthrough has it), then ask in plain language. Under the hood the agent calls, for example, prowl_call_tool with tool_name: "dataforseo_labs_bulk_traffic_estimation".
Prowl Agent. Sign in at prowl.chat and ask the built-in agent the same question. It runs on the same tools and bills the same wallet.
When one call is not enough, ask for a report: Prowl plans the calls, checks numeric claims against independent tools and says what it could not confirm.
What it does not cover
These are estimates from search rankings and clickstream panels, not the site's own analytics. They are good for comparing domains and spotting direction, not for an exact visit count. Prowl reads no Google Analytics account.
Frequently asked questions
Is this a Similarweb MCP?
No. Prowl estimates traffic from DataForSEO's ranking and clickstream data. It is an independent source, not a proxy for Similarweb.
How accurate are traffic estimates?
Good for comparing domains and for direction over time; not an exact count. Only a site's own analytics has that.
Can it read my Google Analytics?
No. Prowl reads public and provider data only.
