The tools it calls
Every row is a tool in the catalogue, with the provider's description and a link to its public reference. Your agent finds them with prowl_search_tools and calls them with prowl_call_tool; each call is billed on its own.

Two ways to ask
Your agent. Add Prowl to Claude Code, Cursor, Codex or any MCP client with one config block (the getting-started walkthrough has it), then ask in plain language. Under the hood the agent calls, for example, prowl_call_tool with tool_name: "dataforseo_serp_google_organic".
Prowl Agent. Sign in at prowl.chat and ask the built-in agent the same question. It runs on the same tools and bills the same wallet.
When one call is not enough, ask for a report: Prowl plans the calls, checks numeric claims against independent tools and says what it could not confirm.
What it does not cover
Prowl is not a rank tracker and not a site crawler: it does not watch positions daily for you, and it does not replace a crawl of your own site. It answers the question your agent asks, when it asks it. It reads no Search Console or Analytics account.

Is this a Semrush or Ahrefs MCP?
No. Prowl does not proxy those products. It calls DataForSEO, Moz, Majestic, SpyFu and Keywords Everywhere directly, so a backlink count can be checked in a second index instead of trusted from one.
Can it tell me whether ChatGPT mentions my brand?
Yes. The AI-mention tools report how often a domain or keyword appears in AI answers, which pages AI cites for a topic, and how ChatGPT and Perplexity answer a query, with citations.
Does it connect to my Google Search Console?
No. Prowl reads public and provider data only. It never asks for access to your own accounts.
