Google Trends MCP
Interest over time, by region and by audience – with the news that explains a spike.
Your agent can read Google Trends for a term or a comparison, break interest down by subregion, check the same curve in DataForSEO's clickstream trends with age and gender splits, and pull the news from the week a line moved. A trend with its cause attached is a decision; a trend alone is a chart.
Questions your agent can answer
- How has interest in “standing desk” moved over five years, and is it seasonal?
- Which US states search “solar panels” most, relative to population?
- What happened in the news the week searches for this brand doubled?
The tools it calls
Every row is a tool in the catalogue, with the provider's description and a link to its public reference. Your agent finds them with prowl_search_tools and calls them with prowl_call_tool; each call is billed on its own.

Two ways to ask
Your agent. Add Prowl to Claude Code, Cursor, Codex or any MCP client with one config block (the getting-started walkthrough has it), then ask in plain language. Under the hood the agent calls, for example, prowl_call_tool with tool_name: "google_trends".
Prowl Agent. Sign in at prowl.chat and ask the built-in agent the same question. It runs on the same tools and bills the same wallet.
When one call is not enough, ask for a report: Prowl plans the calls, checks numeric claims against independent tools and says what it could not confirm.
What it does not cover
Google Trends is relative: 100 is the peak of the period you asked for, not a count of searches. For absolute volume, pair it with keyword volume tools. Trend data describes attention, not purchases.
Frequently asked questions
Does Google Trends give search volume?
No, it gives relative interest (0–100). Prowl's keyword volume and clickstream tools give absolute monthly estimates, and your agent can call both.
Can it compare several terms?
Yes. Trends calls take a list of terms and return them on one scale.
Can it break a trend down by region or audience?
By subregion, and in DataForSEO's trends by age and gender.
