What is an MCP research server?

Model Context Protocol is the open standard agents use to discover and call external tools. An MCP research server is a remote endpoint that publishes research tools an agent can invoke mid-conversation. Prowl is that endpoint, specialized for market and competitive intelligence.

Connect in three steps

  1. Sign up at prowl.chat and generate an API key (prowl_…).
  2. Add the server to your MCP client config with the URL https://prowl.chat/mcp and an Authorization: Bearer header.
  3. Call prowl_list_tools then prowl_call_tool — or prowl_analyze for a full report.

Billing that fits agents, not seats

Each invocation debits your wallet by provider cost × markup. Subscription credit burns first; one-time top-up credit (which never expires) burns second. Every tool response includes a billing object so the agent always knows what a call cost.
